In the exhibition Malign, I portray a changeable time marked by powerlessness and the loss of control, while highlighting the nuances of pain, joy, and hope of everyday life.
Malign explores feelings connected to my daughter’s illness and cries for help, as the only thing I can do is let time run its course and trust in other people having the knowledge and will to help her survive. One hour at a time, one day, one life.
Sami tradition and culture is a crucial element in my work. By placing myself in a line of humanity that stretches both back in time and into the future, I can find strength in what my foremother’s created, and let their imprint become part of my own.

In Edmondson’s exhibition, all parts from Malign, an art project that spans several years, are displayed together for the first time. The piece Closure has previously been on display at Konstmuseet i Norr in Kiruna (2019/2020) and TippingPoint was displayed in a hay barn outside Tärnaby (2021).
